Cerasus Grup is one of Romania's largest cherry producer organisations, and still a family business.

We bring together about 20 grower families in Romania, with more than 25 years in fruit growing. Together we farm 120+ ha of orchards and run our own packhouse, cold storage and sorting lines.

We grow, pack and trade cherries, apples and table grapes, under the Panere® brand or your private label, with one focus: quality and taste.

From orchard to table

Picked by hand, cooled within hours, sorted by size and colour.

Cherries are hydrocooled at our reception base straight after picking. Sorting lines grade cherries, stone fruit and apples by calibre and colour. Apples go into a 1,500 m² ULO cold store, where temperature and oxygen are monitored, so we can sell them until March.

Where Panere is sold

On the shelf in Romania, on trucks to Western Europe.

In Romania, Panere® cherries and apples are sold through the main retail chains, in carry bags, punnets and 2 kg and 5 kg cartons.

We supply the main retail chains in Romania. For export we sell to traders in the Netherlands, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Spain, Germany and other markets. We deliver to your facilities or to an agreed logistics point.

Keeping cherries fresh

Keep them cold, at 0–2 °C, and unwashed until serving. Take them out of the fridge about half an hour before eating.

Hand picking

At ripeness, in our own orchards.

Hydrocooling

Cherries are cooled in water at the reception base within hours of picking, which keeps them firm.

Sorting

Automated lines grade cherries, stone fruit and apples by calibre and colour. Fruit outside spec is taken out.

Storage

1,500 m² ULO cold store with monitored temperature and oxygen, for apples through to March.
